About Wild Laks

“The aim of art is not a refined, intellectual distillate — it is life itself, intense and brilliant.” — Alain Arias-Misson

Why “Wild Laks”

Laks is the Norwegian word for salmon. A wild salmon swims against the current, finds its way back to where it began and does it again, year after year. That is our picture of a yoga practice: steady effort, a lot of flow, and always coming back to the mat — no matter how long you have been away.

Yoga is closer to dance than to a rulebook

We see yoga as something alive: breath, rhythm and attention matter more than perfect shapes. A good practice feels a bit like music — it has a pace, it changes with the day, and it is never quite the same twice. That idea runs through everything we write: less dogma, more feeling for what works in your body today.

What Wild Laks is

Wild Laks is an independent yoga knowledge base. We collect the questions people ask most often about yoga — poses, breathing, meditation, styles, anatomy and everyday practice — and answer them in plain, practical language. New articles are added every day; the newest are always on the New page.

How our articles are made

Every article starts from a real question that people search for. Answers are drafted with the help of AI writing tools and built around the related questions readers usually ask next. Each page opens with a short answer, followed by clear sections you can jump between.

What we care about

Practical over theoretical: we focus on what helps you on the mat. Honest about what varies: bodies, styles and teachers differ, and we say so. Clear and calm: no hype, no miracle promises.

Not medical advice

Yoga is not a substitute for medical care. If you have an injury, are pregnant or live with a health condition, talk to a qualified doctor or yoga therapist before starting a new practice.
